Lee Dewyze Missing From American Idol Finale
The tenth installment of one of the most popular shows on television concluded last week leaving Idol fans wondering where is Lee Dewyze? Dewyze was the reigning champion from season 9 of American Idol. Apparently, Lee Dewyze was not asked to perform at the show’s finale last Wednesday. The executive producer of the show Nigel Lythgoe, reportedly asked Dewyze to present the trophy to the season 10 winner two minutes before it was announced. Dewyze declined, which apparently angered Lythgoe.
Lee Dewyze beat out Crystal Bowersox to win the top spot in season 9 of American Idol. The young singer came off as shy and unsure of his self at the beginning of the show but later began to realize his potential and gain more confidence.
Dewyze released his first post-idol record Live It Up in late 2010. The results were less than stellar, as he had the lowest first week sales from of any past American Idol winner or even runner up since the beginning of the show.
The former American Idol winner is still trying to get a hold on fame and find some traction in a very difficult business. He will be going out on tour starting on June 6 and currently has dates scheduled until the end of July. It remains to be seen what kind of impact Dewyze’s feud with the American Idol producer will have. Die-hard fans are rooting for Dewyze and will be anticipating his future work. Even though he is a former American Idol winner, he still has much more to accomplish.
